Chapter 1

<<Meet Calista

I moved into Riverview today.  The lot my parents left me is huge, I can already envision so many possibilities of the dream home that I’ll build here someday.

For now, however, all I could afford to buy for the lot is a bed.  At least it’s a very comfortable bed.

I took a walk around the town, trying to learn the places, since this is where I’ll be living for the rest of my life.  Downtown, I came across a cute little gazebo.  There was music playing, and I went up to dance.  I never did get around to dancing, however, since I started talking to the man on the gazebo.  His name is Hal Breckenridge.

We talked for quite a while, and I found him quite handsome, but before I’d let any ideas start forming in my mind, I had to make sure he wasn’t already in a relationship.  Luckily, Hal’s single.

I also discovered that he works in Law Enforcement.  Hmm…a cop, that’s kinda cute.  Oh, who am I kidding?  That’s just flat-out sexy.  I wonder if he brings his cuffs home…woah, I’m getting ahead of myself.  Easy, Calista, take it easy.  Slow, deep breaths.  Whew, okay.  Hal was very friendly, and we chatted for awhile.

It soon turned into flirting.  Looking back, I’m sure I looked absolutley foolish while flirting with him, but he didn’t seem to mind.  Actually,  he seemed to enjoy my advances, and return them.  He definitely seems to be quite the flirt.

He even gave me a hug.  It seemed like more than just a friendly hug, if you ask me.  His arms are so warm and muscular, and having them around me just felt so incredibly right.

I had to leave before anything went too far.  I hope I see him again soon.  I wonder if he’s thinking about me right now as much as I’m thinking about him.
